The event, known as National Photographers\u2019 Rights Day, or NPRD, was organized by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/discarted.wordpress.com\/\">\u201cDiscarted\u201d<\/a>\u00a0and a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/groups\/laprotest\/\">flickr group<\/a>\u00a0was created to explain the motivation behind the rally and to share information and photos from the event.<\/p>\n<p>We met at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/genshi\/2544385418\/in\/set-72157605385511061\/\">Hollywood and Highland Metro Station<\/a>\u00a0and after a couple of hours getting to know each other, camera gear discussions and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/nohodamon\/2543095577\/in\/set-72157605386569529\/\">taking photos<\/a>, we took the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/nohodamon\/2543605927\/\">Redline<\/a>\u00a0down to Union Station.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/kellyfaerie\/2544360196\/in\/pool-laprotest\">I met some great people<\/a>, took a few\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/genshi\/2544383126\/in\/set-72157605385511061\/\">cool pictures<\/a>\u00a0and wished that this was a monthly event (at least) as it was just too important to be a once a year thing and it was a great experience as well; to get out on the streets and capture the many characters of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/genshi\/2543703992\/in\/set-72157605385511061\/\">Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/genshi\/2542894861\/in\/set-72157605385511061\/\">Downtown<\/a>\u00a0Los Angeles.<div id=\"attachment_119\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/genshi.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/nprd.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-119\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/genshi.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/nprd-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"National Photographers\u2019 Rights Day\" title=\"nprd\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-119\" srcset=\"http:\/\/genshi.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/nprd-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/genshi.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/nprd.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-119\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">National Photographers\u2019 Rights Day<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<p>This particular photo was taken at Union Station of video-blogger Naomi Mercer interviewing Discarted about the Photographers\u2019 Rights Rally.
